Adrian is a former federal prosecutor and senior corporate executive with over 30 years of experience, who has guided global organizations through complex legal, regulatory, and operational challenges. A seasoned general counsel, chief compliance officer, and chief risk officer, he has advised boards, C-suites, and private equity sponsors on governance, cybersecurity and data privacy, enterprise risk, global compliance, and M&A due diligence across highly regulated industries.

Before joining Jacobson Lopez, Adrian led enterprise risk management at scale, overseeing compliance operations across more than 50 countries and directing responses to high-stakes government inquiries and regulatory remediation efforts. He also designed compliance frameworks meeting international regulatory standards.

Adrian most recently served as Executive Vice President & Chief Risk Officer at a multibillion-dollar healthcare enterprise serving more than five million members nationwide. He oversaw enterprise risk, compliance, data privacy, internal audit, and was a key advisor to the CEO and Board on regulatory exposure, operational resilience, governance, and long-term strategic risk management.

Prior to that, Adrian was a Principal at one of the top multinational professional services firms where he collaborated closely with corporate leaders and private equity firms on global compliance, cybersecurity risk management, commercial strategy, and transactional diligence. His work often involved coordinating multijurisdictional responses to government investigations and strengthening risk and compliance programs for multinational enterprises.

Adrian previously served as Chief Compliance Officer, Deputy General Counsel, and Interim General Counsel at an international confectionary and snacking company with 70+ brands, where he oversaw SEC and shareholder governance, ESG strategy, global investigations, and corporate compliance. He also advised on major corporate transactions and helped build the company’s enterprise risk infrastructure during a period of sustained growth and strategic change.

Earlier in his career, Adrian held senior legal and compliance leadership roles at one of the largest multinational oilfield services companies, managing governance, investigations, and legal and compliance risk across operations in more than 100 countries. He led the company’s defense of a multiyear U.S. government investigation and negotiated a global resolution with the DOJ, SEC, and Treasury. His work included FCPA, export-controls, and sanctions matters and the implementation of a comprehensive global compliance program.

Adrian began his legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Cook County in Chicago before joining the U.S. Department of Justice in the Criminal Division, Fraud Section, where he prosecuted complex white-collar, FCPA, obstruction, and financial fraud cases. He later practiced at Crowell & Moring, representing corporations and executives in federal and congressional investigations and in civil and criminal enforcement actions.

A frequent lecturer and published thought leader on fraud, corruption risk, emerging markets, and enterprise governance, Adrian has spoken at programs hosted by the American Bar Association, NACDL, PLI, and ACI. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Let’s Get Ready, where he chairs the Nominating Committee and serves on the Audit & Risk Committee.
